BUT,WHY?
I was under pressure to have Roy Kells killed in the first place, something that I had decided not to do since Reverend Jackson had intervened and I had lost some of my old ire for "Potato-stunts". I did not want "to tear the heart out of the Protestant community along the border". I subsequently resisted all pressure to have him killed and instead counselled the bombing of the City of London, viewing matters in purely economic terms. I called that tactic "economic targets in London", returning to my theme in July-August 1988 in the 'great' drama of that summer.
